Welcome, friend.

Have you heard of the “bloom” in coffee?

When water first makes contact with coffee grounds, it bubbles up, releasing carbon dioxide formed from the roasting process. This is called the bloom. It’s actually an important step to us picky coffee drinkers. The bloom helps the coffee become its best during the brewing process. What does this have to do with church?

There’s a few things we have in common with coffee. To become our best, sometimes we need to let go of things. We are leaning into an expression of church that lets go of a lot of the norms of today, in the hopes of experiencing church as simple, yet deep and transformative. We also acknowledge our need for community. A single coffee bean cannot make a rich cup of coffee. And coffee goes through a lot. It gets plucked, dried out, roasted, and ground down. You get the metaphor. We need each other as we seek Jesus, for encouragement and for growth.

Do any of these resonate?

You want a church that is:

· SIMPLE  You want to pursue Jesus in community, without multiple obligations each week that keep you away from your neighborhood, your passions or your family

· REAL You crave deep, authentic and collaborative connection as you navigate life and faith, without top-down leadership or a laundry list of dictated theological beliefs

· BALANCED  You understand discipleship to mean a genuine relationship with God that leads to a life of pursuing God’s peace and justice in your home and your neighbors near and far

· ENGAGING  You desire to co-create a safe space and events for those who are burnt out, lonely, or skeptical

If so, this might be your new church home: a simple, little house church with plans to sprout into a coffee shop church in 2025.
